RESTRICTION INDICATORS

Restriction indicators are used to indicate when an Air Cleaner should be serviced. The Restriction Indicator flags red and remains so even when the engine is switched off to denote the end of the useful service life of a filter element. The Indicator can be re-set after element servicing by depressing the top of the unit. Typically, such indicators are mounted directly to an Air Cleaner or remotely installed on the inlet ducting using one of the adaptors described below.

FILTER MONITORS

The Filter Monitor automatically and continuously monitors the condition of the Air Filter by showing in graduated readings how much element service life has been used and more importantly, how much element service life remains. It does this by measuring the actual maximum restriction of the Air Cleaner when the engine is operating under full load and "locks up" against a graduated scale of restriction enabling the remaining element service life to be read - even after the engine has been stopped.

Such Indicators or Filter Monitors must not be installed on the engine side of a blower or Turbo charger.

FILTER MONITORS

ADAPTORS

Restriction Indicator Adaptors are available to facilitate bulkhead or instrument panel mounting in conjunction with any reasonable length of rubber or plastic tubing whilst others are used where the direct mounting of the indicator is required. Those fitted with safety filters dampen pulsations and prevent the entry of dust should the indicator be removed or damaged.

Threaded adaptors are all 1/8 (one eighth) NPT. All dimensions in millimetres.

Used to reduce the frequency of service of all types of Air Cleaners where extremely dusty conditions are encountered.
