OPERATIONAL DETAILS

The Cooper-King Self Cleaning Air Filter has been designed specifically to deal with severe dust conditions such as can be found in quarries, foundries, construction sites and gravel pits, in addition to many industrial applications. With its self cleaning ability the Cooper-King requires only minimal servicing and thereby significantly reduces operational costs.

Cooper-King remains the only commercially available self cleaning air filter and is used in a wide range of vehicular and industrial equipment applications.

Pressure in the system's blast bottle is built up in a controlled manner by the restrictor in the line filter to 5.6/6.0 kg/cm3 from the vehicle's own compressed air source, or fixed industrial supply, which should be at least 6.7 kg/cm3. This then activates the valve mechanism, in the blowing unit allowing a rapid release of air through the discharge tube into one of the eight element segments. The air blast blows the dust back to the atmosphere guided by the segmented filter skirt.

After pressure is released through the discharge tube the valve plate controlling the blowing sequence is indexed to the next element segment. The blowing interval, determined by the restrictor, is factory-set to suit operational conditions.
